Boereboom Invitro Portugal is a young SME established in 2010, operating at international and national markets with the commitment of commercialisation and application of innovative products.
Specialized in multiplication of perennials and woody plants by using tissue culture.
Boereboom Invitro Portugal is located in Madan Parque, a science and technology park that works as an incubator in the Lisbon area.
Nowadays, Boereboom’s main clients are nurseries in Europe, USA and Australia. The main business core of the SME is in vitro micropropagation of ornamental woody plants. In 2012, Boereboom started working with in vitro micropropagation of fruit plants.
Boereboom’s staff is a multidisciplinary, dynamic and proactive team that uses biotechnology and its techniques in a pioneering way thus enhancing the company growth and profitability.
THE TEAM
André Boereboom
Founder and CEO
He is the Director of the Research and Plant Development Department. Has been working in Netherlands with plant propagation for the last fifteen years. A vast experience in physiology, breeding new plant cultivars and plant tissue culture techniques, as well as business and management skills are an asset to the company.
Dirand van Wijk
Founder and Financial Director
He is the Director Marketing/Commercial and Financial Department. He has worked with several nurseries as a plant advisor in Holland and internationally in a consultancy level to set up a tissue culture laboratory. In the present he is Director in a consultancy company, being responsible for the marketing and finances.
Angelique van de Burgt
Founder and Production Director
She has experience in plant physiology, tissue culture technique and meristem technique. She also works with André Boereboom in the development and management of the new species and cultivars.
Helena Sousa
COO
Responsible for the production management, presides over the organization's day-to-day operations and makes the connection between all Boereboom companies. She has worked previously as an advisor in horticulture.
Cláudia Serralheiro
Production Department
The newest addition. Has joined Boereboom in September 2015 and has concluded her master degree in energy and Bioenergy at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, in Caparica. She gives support to plant production.
